LOTR!: More Mordor! New Sourcebook rumors!

Totally Mordor!

Hey all this is your Local Lord of the Rings fanatic, Dylan and from now on I'll mostly be posting about The Lord of the Rings.

For a long time there has not been any major releases for the Lord of the Rings (or LotR as i will be abbreviating from now on) but that is all about to drastically change. The Mordor source book is now unavailable to buy from the Games Workshop website and that is a sure sign something big is coming. With already great models in the Mordor range, such as the Mordor Troll, and Sauron I am very excited to see what they come out with next.

Sauron likes to club the baby seals!

Some of the rumors floating around seem absolutely amazing, such as boosting up Sauron even more (with 4 attacks, Fight and Defence 10, and the One Ring special rule which makes him practically unkillable, I cant wait to see what they come up with), making Morananon Orcs stronger, and delving more into the rules and background for Black Numenoreans.

The only bad Rumor I have heard so far is that there is a possibility that Matt Ward may be writing this Source book. He seems to do fine with LotR except for he tends to make stuff up that doesn't follow Tolkien fluff. For example, take the Castellans of Dol Guldor (great models by the way). According to Tolkien, they don't exist However before I judge too much, I will wait until more solid rumors appear.

Personally I think this will be an exciting release and i am very much looking forward to it. and now I put on my Magic Ring and vanish into the night...

SUCK IT!: Space Marine is better than Fire Warrior EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK!

Way better than Fire Warrior.

From Ben S.

That's right Fire Warrior, you sit in that corner and cry you B!%&#.

Okay so after my sweaty palms opened the packing and box and got the disc in my 360 I settled in for a long night of 40k visual epicness.

I was not disappointed.

Space Marine in the campaign is excellent, I won't ruin the story line too much, but its a classic 40k scenario of big epic battle with more to it than meets the eye. The enemies fit the fluff and look great and interact in a way I imagine they would based upon fluff. Although these Orks are much higher than BS2. The cinematics and detailing are great and the voice actors did a great job. The feeling of the 41st millennium is captured very well. (My one complaint was that it didn't seem dark and polluted enough, but that was a minor flaw at that.)

Multiplayer is pretty solid, but leaves some things to be desired. First of all, maps are always random. For the first 6 games I thought there were only 2 maps. That's somewhat annoying. As for your Marine or Chaos Marine, well if you want to customize him beyond different colors and get all those epic pieces of armor from the preview videos, well, have fun with the mile long list of crazy achievements. Some include, 500 revenge kills, and other bull$#!%. This really annoyed me as I was looking forward to making a very epic looking Ultramarine vet.

Weapons and perks are unlocked via levels, which is fine as you gain access fairly easily. You can also always steal the class that killed you, which can give you somewhat of a taste of wargear to come.

Only two game types of capture 3 points and hold to earn points or kill em. After being spoiled by CoD I was annoyed at first, but honestly I don't know what else I'd want as these are the only good game types in CoD anyways.

Controls are pretty solid, plays very much like Gears, which isn't bad but I'm sure most of us are more used to CoD/Battlefield. I know I am.

As a fan, this game is perfect. As a gamer, this game is strong with a few faults that don't detract too much from the overall game. Don't expect anything ground breaking though, but this is one of the most fun games I've played in a long time.

Overall 8 out of 10

So let's never ever speak of Fire Warrior again, shall we?

2011 Ordo Fanaticus Club Challenge: 40K Armies on Parade

Not only is this army bad-ass, it is more bad ass because my Col-dusas are in it.

I found this on youtube a few day ago. What is it you may ask? It is not only a video containing about ever army at the 2011 Warahammer 40K OFCC made by Da40kOrks. This guy kicked my ass in the first round...mainly because I didn't take scouts or an army I could Drunkhammer with.

If you were curious just to see the Ultra Moo'rines and Chokolate Starphishes army's then I have put up this helpful list of times and names so you could check out the awesomeness that we brought to OFCC!
  • Casey - Ultra Moo'rines - Orks - 13:24
  • Erik - Ultra Moo'rines - Grey Knights - 13:30
  • Dan - Ultra Moor'rines - Space Wolves - unknown
  • Derek - Choko Starphishes - Blood Angels - 13:54
  • Ben - Choko Starphishes - Imperial Guard - 14:00
  • Keith - Choko Starphishes - Orks - 14:07
  • Marc - Choko Starphishes Dark Angels - 14:23
  • Matt - Ultra Moo'rines - Space Wolves - 14:55, 15:11

Captain of the Failboat: Working on 2000 point Thunderwolves List

Seattle, WA. Now that I am back in Seattle at my home, I can now ponder what sweet army I can captain to the bottom of the sea with all my other sunken failboats.

I am thinking the mighty and scary Thunderwolves of Fenris. I want a list that is all wolves and the nice thing about this is I can actually do it with real Space Wolf rules, unlike when I tried using "13th Company" and bikes rules for Thunderwolves.

Here is my list components and special consideration. First, I have to buy Canis...he kinda sucks but he allows me to take fenrisian wolves as Troops. What is good about fenrisian wolves being troops? They are cheap and...they are fast and...they kinda suck too. I mean they can't even hold objectives, what good is a troop choice if it can't hold an objective. The only thing good about them really is that you don't have to burn up Fast Attack choices to have them. Their basically there to contest objectives or screen other units and they are fluffy for my list.

Second, I like Wolf Scouts. I was really missing them this year at OFCC. They come in so handy...just popping up behind Tau Broadsides or breaking up a Blood Angels parking lot of Rhino chassis vehicles. So just because I really can't function as a Space Wolf player without them, I putting them in. It is not really fluffy but I'll make it fluffy, especially if I get a brass plate describing the battle that will soon consume them all in battle. It'll sound sexy, probably my some nerd nips hard and get me so extra paint score kudos.

Third, I have to have as many hardcore Thunderwolves as possible. Check below:

  • Two (2) Iron Priests - I have two "pipe hitting," which means they smoke crack, meth or PCP not that they hit people with pipes like everyone else thinks it means, Iron Priests on Thunderwolf Mounts with all the cyber wolves you can stack a stick at.

  • One (1) Wolf Lord - After having two Iron Priest, I was pondering the greater scheme of 40K and OFCC which is...I don't have to win...I just have to tie...so I need 'death star' units that will focus on wrecking any armies happy fun-time on the battle field. Then 'bing', Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf Mount and hold the pickles.
  • I decided to bring the standard Wolf Lord with Wolf Claws, all the cool kid kit, Saga of the Warrior Born because it is sexy and only cool kid Space Wolf players use it, then gave him the Belt of Russ because I want every attack I can get out of this guy plus an invulnerable save.
  • But all you hater Space Wolf players will be like, "You should take the Storm Shield and just one Wolf Claw?" I saw big 'F' 'U' in brown eyed kisser. I don't roll that way, every model in my army knows that it is going to die, my wolf lord just wants some more chances to die mofos into serving cube sized snacks at the SAM'S Club.
  • One (1) Wolf Guard Battle Leader - Cheap and he gets Saga of the Hunter. If I can get this guy and the scouts working one side of the table...please no body is going to like that except me.
Fourth, I can drunkhammer with this list. It takes no thinking and a few models to move. All I have to do is point and shot and wait for the victories to come...as long as there is no armor....then I just loose.

In conclusion, I want Thunderwolves and lots of them and I will sacrifice anything, mainly the ability to crack armor effectively, to have as many as I can take. Check the list and tell me what you think on the forums.
